Tattoo of a raven: a symbol of freedom and power, which is always with you
Tattoos are one of the most popular ways to express your feelings…
One of the most common motifs for tattooing is the image of a raven. This image has quite deep meaning and symbolism, as in many peoples carries a certain aura of mysticism and magic.
The semantic load of the symbol of the raven in many things depends on the traditional representations of one or another people. Also it is important the plot in which the bird is depicted on the tattoo, as well as the presence of additional elements in the picture.
Most often a raven is used on a tattoo stylized as a Celtic engraving. In Celtic legends, ravens were companions of the goddess of war and death. These birds were attributed the ability to foretell the future and even influence human destinies.
In Scandinavia, a pair of huge ravens accompanied Odin – they helped the god to see everything that happens in the world. The Slavs also considered these birds a symbol of wisdom and eternal life, but at their sight people were in awe. The same could not be said about the superstitions of the Greeks and Romans – they believed that ravens can attract good luck and be a harbinger of a bright future. And in Eastern countries, ravens were considered symbols of love and fidelity, as well as home.

Tattoo with the image of a raven is considered universal, that is, it can be worn on the body, both men and women. However, the places for the placement of the naked picture can be chosen differently.
Men prefer to apply the tattoo with crows in prominent places – this arm, calves, chest, neck or back. In this case, such tattoos differ in scale and the abundance of additional elements (skulls, knives, watches and the like).
As for the placement of the female tattoo with a raven, most often the fair sex choose the back (shoulder blade area) or thigh. Less often, such a tattoo is applied to the forearm or ankle. Ladies, wishing to shock society, may decide to tattoo with a raven, printed on the area of the neck and cleavage.
